The museum’s unique mission – making connections to history through the cultural arts – opens the door for collaborations with cultural artists (literary, visual, and performing artists) to use the museum’s collection as a source of inspiration in the creation of new works of art.

The museum is also home to a vibrant artist colony, ten resident artists who work in various mediums, such as clay, enamel, metals, wood, and textiles.
