HOMES: EARNSHAW
Earnshaw

Earnshaw, long the home of the Wetherald family, stood across the road from the Sandy Spring Store, which Samuel B. Wetherald acquired a decade before this 1895 family portrait. He ran the store until 1923 and served as postmaster for 35 years. An expert marksman, he represented the United States in matches in England. Earnshaw became an apartment house before being demolished. From left here are Harry Wetherald with his bike, Samuel B., Stanley, Florence in rocker holding Robert, Helen, and on the porch Dorothy and Anna.
