31th annual Strawberry Festival

Looking forward to another big day!

Saturday, June 2, 2012 10am - 5pm

The Strawberry Festival began in 1981, the year after the Museum was incorporated.  Held the first Saturday of June each year, the Strawberry Festival has grown into a widely anticipated highlight of the community calendar.   Drawing 4000-5000 people to the Museum on Bentley Road, the Strawberry Festival celebrates the rural heritage we interpret by featuring crafts, animals, live music, fresh food, and great camaraderie.

This year, enjoy the Washington Revels presenting Civil War era music throughout the day! We expect a visit also from President Abraham Lincoln!

We welcome hundreds of volunteers to help and feature business sponsors from across the area.  Many people plan to kick off their summer each year with a bowl of our incomparable homemade STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE!!

If you would like to volunteer for the Festival, email the coordinators here. If you want to participate as a performer, a craft demonstrator, or a sponsor, please use the online contact form to let us know you are interested. Event organizers will be in touch starting in late February.

We welcome support from corporate sponsors -- The Festival draws 4000 people to the Museum, so offers a good promotional opportunity for business sponsors.

Thanks to our 2011 sponsors, including the Brooke Grove Retirement Community, Luxuria Spa, Ashton Paint and Hardware, Ruppert Nurseries, Barber Funeral Home, the Sandy Spring Lions, Marian Assisted Living, American Plant Food, Augies Doggies, Mater Amoris Montessori School, and the Washington Revels.

Thanks so much, folks. You are what community means!
