Extreme Exhibit Makeover
History Museum meets Reality TV!
Latest news: Tania Katan, the Producer of Shenanigans at the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art, will be the guest MC during the Extreme Exhibit Makeover installation!
The Extreme Exhibit Makeover is a process of creating new exhibits through the collaboration of professionals from different fields – history, art, exhibit design, and so on – and a member of the local community. Two teams of professionals will compete for the best exhibit design, while the public watches the behind-the-scenes action on video!
Team Jersey Shore participants include Andrew Scott, Sarah Gingold, and Elissa Blattman. Team Kardashian participants are Lynda Andrews Barry, Lindsay Brennan, Michael Simons, Andrea Jones Childress, and James Hicks. Larry O’Reilly will be serving as the project “Lifeline” for participants to call on when they are in need of help and Susan Baker will be batting for both teams as the graphic designers!
Team members met for the first time at the kick-off on October 20 and were given three months to conduct a makeover of one of the exhibits at the museum. We are hoping that no one gets “voted off the island” but anything is possible!
The public will be invited to attend a two-day installation at the museum On February 1 and 2 and vote for a “people’s choice” winner.
Stay tuned for video and blog posts to watch how the teams progress and root for your favorite.
