Stay tuned for volunteer opportunities for the 2017 Strawberry Festival. Whether donating time, talent or other resources, we are extremely grateful to everyone who supports the Strawberry Festival and supports Sandy Spring Museum as a whole, year-round!
A special thank you to the following volunteers:
- Under the direction of Scout Leader Peter Vandre, Boy Scout Troop #941 took the responsibility for Strawberry Festival parking very seriously and worked with trained police officers to coordinate getting guests, volunteers, performers, parents, and kids parked and safely to the Festival gates!
- Event Coordinator Lisa Hedgepeth, who oversaw this event from start to finish!
- Diane Bush, who has been a Museum staff member for over 11 years and knows a thing or two (or twenty) about strawberries!
- Lisa and Diane and the hundreds of other volunteers who have stepped up with their time, donations, creativity, and leg work to make a difference in the community!
“It was great to be a part of the Strawberry Festival this year. I enjoyed seeing the business community come together in support of the Museum. It really is what being a small business is all about. We truly cannot have a great community and a great museum without the support of each other. Volunteering at the Festival was the icing on the cake. To put it simply, it solidified that we work and live in a wonderful neighborhood.” – Lisa Mix, Elite Image, Inc.
