Experience and explore Cambodian traditional music and dance from some of its most respected practitioners.
Join us for a special evening of Cambodian traditional music with nationally recognized musician and Montgomery County resident Chum Ngek, featuring dances by Cambodian Celestial Dance, directed by Devi Yim. Chum Ngek is a recipient of the NEA’s National Heritage Fellowship—the highest honor for the traditional arts in the United States—and one of the few master artists in the Battambang style of Cambodian traditional music. For this performance, Ngek will be joined by musicians and dancers from throughout the United States in a concert of traditional songs and original arrangements.
Devi Yim was the prima ballerina of Cambodia’s national dance troupe and is an acclaimed performer and respected teacher.
Cambodian snacks and refreshments will be provided for attendees with a recommended donation.
Tickets are $20/person; 20% off for Museum members. Not a member? Join today.
