Ambassador Susan Rice will recall pivotal moments from her dynamic career on the front lines of American diplomacy and foreign policy in a moderated discussion held at the Olney Theatre Center. Rice, the National Security Advisor to President Barack Obama and U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, is known for revealing her surprising story with unflinching candor.
Mother, wife, scholar, diplomat, and fierce champion of American interests and values, Rice was taught early how to compete and excel as an African American woman in settings where people of color are few. She served throughout the Clinton administration, becoming one of the nation’s youngest assistant secretaries of state and, later, one of President Obama’s most trusted advisors.
Program attendees can pre-purchased a copy of Ambassador Rice’s autobiography Tough Love for $20. Books will be for sale at the event for $29.99 plus tax. Ambassador Rice will sign books after the program.Reserve Your Spot
