Annual Family Holiday Party

Sunday, December 2, 2018 at 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

It’s only the 2nd of December and your kids are ready for the holidays! What to do? Make it a family tradition to kick off the holiday season at the museum!

Visit with Santa and his elves, dance to live holiday music performed by Carolyn Reitman, enjoy mountains of cookies, and the hot cocoa bar – the festive fun is endless!

December 2018 Lantern 2Kids will get their creative juices flowing at our hands-on kids’ craft stations. Along with crafts lead by local 4-H and Girl Scouts clubs, the WondeRoom will be open! Participants of the WondeRoom activity will light up the world with beautiful lanterns, decorated with colorful paper, gems and lights, representing winter celebrations from across cultures.

Monster StuffiesNot all crafts will be make-and-take. This year, Small Things Matter is joining us to run an activity where children will make an item to donate through their Crafting for Charity program. This program empowers kids to use and share their talents to help others in need, whether it be with an encouraging word on a rock, a handmade stuffie, or a card with a hand drawn picture. These items are then donated to organizations such as The Children’s Inn at the NIH, Children’s National Medical Center, and Pediatrics at Shady Grove Hospital.

Kids' OnlyThe Kids’ Only Gift Shop is back by popular demand! The museum’s library transforms into a store, where only children are permitted to shop. Items are all priced at $5 and below, for shoppers to buy gifts for their loved ones. Do you have items you’d like to donate to sell in the Kids’ Only Gift Shop? Email us at info@sandyspringmuseum.org.
