Event Navigation
In conjunction with the Karen S. Montgomery: A Sculptural Retrospective exhibit, Karen Montgomery will host a discussion about sculpture and fine artworks, their origin and underlying meanings.
Long ago, art conveyed primarily religious metaphors and imagery. As time has progressed, art has become less sacred and more representative of a wide variety of images and ideas. Senator Montgomery will talk about these changes throughout time and history, highlighting her special interest in the metaphorical meanings of snakes. She will end this talk by offering a brief tour of the exhibit of her work, which is on display at the museum until April 28.
