Community Celebration and Book Launch

Celebrate with members of the Round Oak Missionary Baptist Church as they share stories about this historic church.  Enjoy light refreshments and live music while perusing photographs and artifacts representing 150 years of service to the community, all documented in the newly published From Acorn to Mighty Oak: It Can be Done.  

Members of the church’s History Committee will be on hand to talk about how they spent month’s conducting research on the church, eventually self-publishing the story.  Sharing lessons learned from the process, they hope to inspire other community-base organizations to write their own histories and publish the results.  It can be done!

Everyone is welcome to attend to learn more about Round Oak’s history, to learn about how to conduct research, and how to self-publish your story.
