Mixed Media Art: Create Collage Papers
10:00 AM-12:00 PM
Explore the art of collaging in this mixed media workshop. Led by artist Marcie Wolf-Hubbard, use paper, acrylic paint, and recycled materials to create different textures and experiment with a variety of layering techniques. Your work can result in a finished piece or contribute to a future, larger mixed media/ collage project.
All supplies included. A list of optional items to make your artwork more personal will be sent to registered participants.
This workshop is open to all levels of experience, ages 16+.
Marcie Wolf-Hubbard received her B.A. from the University of Maryland in Studio Art and studied Fine Art & Illustration at the Maryland Institute, College of Art. Her paintings in encaustic (wax) and mixed media have been exhibited widely on the East Coast. Marcie is an instructor at Glen Echo Park, Yellow Barn Studios, and the Smithsonian.

Painting with Foil

Discover how to make ordinary projects jump off the page through foiled leaf paper. Led by artists Alla and Milana Borovskaia, learn a few simple techniques on how to use foil paper in your art practice or to add to decorative projects. Participants will create a small painting entirely out of foiled leaf paper.
A $15 materials fee is to be paid directly to the artist on the day of the program. This workshop is open to all levels of experience, ages 16+.
Mother and daughter team Alla and Milana Borovskaia are the newest artists-in-residence at Sandy Spring Museum. Their artistic practice includes large-scale installations, sculpture, painting, and collage. Throughout their work, Alla and Milana use a combination of innovative materials and techniques alongside traditional craftsmanship. Through continuous experimentation, their artworks emphasize extraordinary aesthetics created from ordinary materials. Alla and Milana have exhibited their works of art in various museums and galleries across the United States.
