Folklife – The Artist Vibe

Enjoy live music and shop directly from local artisans online with The Artist Vibe! This monthly virtual event, hosted by Tinesi Minikon, will feature one local performing artist and one local visual artist/artisan.

Featured Artist Tychelle Mosely,  Painter

Tychelle Mosley is a visual storytelling artist and writer. She uses her platform to tackle social justice issues.  Mosley is also a native a Silver Spring native and owner of Tychelle Mosley Art.  She creates original artwork as well as hosts events for all things art including corporate art team building, private art lessons, live painting, and sip and paint.  Mosley also brings art lessons to the community through fundraising and donations.   She was featured on Put in Black, owned by Dr. Cortney Beasley.

Featured Performer Miatta Harris, Spoken Word Artist

Miatta Harris is a Poet, Author, and Educator. Initially, she began writing because she had many things consuming her that she needed to get out on paper. Then it turned into a therapeutic tool and outlet for her. Now she views her writing as a tool to encourage and empower other people. She writes her poems from a standpoint of strength, resilience, peace, perseverance, and self-love. She is the author of a children’s book entitled, “Dede, the Baby Circus Elephant” and a faith-based self-help book entitled, “Walk Confidently into your New Season: A guide to build your spiritual and mental muscles.” She often performs her poems at various open mic venues throughout the Baltimore and Washington, DC Metropolitan areas. Miatta holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Teaching.
