Faith and Fossil Fuels: The Legacy of Fossil Fuels and Choosing a Better Future
Thursday, January 20, 2022 at 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm

History Happy Hour: $10 for members/ $15 for non-members
Faith communities of all traditions are coming together to protect our environment. Joelle Novey from Interfaith Power & Light and Rebecca Leber, a senior reporter covering climate change for Vox, will discuss how we historically became so reliant on fossil-fueled power and why faith communities are involved in the efforts to defend our planet. Learn ways each of us can personally commit to “turning away from burning” gas in the New Year — at home, in our communities, and at the state and county levels.
The program will conclude with a Q&A with Cindy McCabe from Montgomery County Green Bank on financing clean energy projects for individual homeowners.
