Summer Flowers
Free for Museum members, $5 for non-members
It’s a day of flower making in the WondeRoom with assistance provided by members of the help of the Lucky Clover 4-H Club. Young artists will fold many layers of colored tissue paper together and staple them in place. When the tissue paper is unfolded, a beautiful flower emerges. Older artists will make an origami flower. Origami is a traditional Japanese art form of folding elaborately designed paper into a myriad of shapes. Learn how paper can be folded intricately to produce a stunning flower. As always, WondeRoom activities are intergenerational so adults should plan on working with the youngsters they register.
What is the WondeRoom? Imagine walking into a room that is designed to inspire creativity and wonder in kids of all ages – you’ve walked into the WondeRoom! The WondeRoom is a dedicated space filled with hands-on activities that inspire creativity through design-based problem-solving challenges that encourage intergenerational cooperation and collaboration. Activities are hosted by the Lucky Clover 4-H Club on the 3rd Sunday of each month. For accommodation requests, please contact the museum via email or at 301-774-0022.
