MoCo Underground Writers Showcase

Thursday, April 21 at 7:00 pm 9:00 pm

A Black woman stands at a podium, smiling, and reading from a book titled "Us Against Alzheimer's".

This is a virtual event held on Zoom

Celebrate the award-winning authors of Maryland with this month’s MoCo Underground Writers Showcase.  Featuring over 20 recipients of the Maryland State Arts Council 2022 Independent Artist Awards, including state-level awardee Teri Ellen Cross Davis, each author will share a reading from recent work.  These accomplished poets, essayists, graphic novelists, children’s writers, playwrights, screenwriters, and fiction and nonfiction writers represent some of the best literary artists in the state of Maryland.

MoCo Underground Writers Showcase is a free, bimonthly public event where six featured writers read their original prose, poetry, and essays aloud in front of a live audience (also known as a “literary reading”), held in-person when pandemics allow, via Zoom when they don’t. In-person events take place at the Sandy Spring Museum.

Admission is free; advanced registration is required.  Click for information on Health & Safety  For accommodation requests, please contact the museum via email or at 301-774-0022.
