CANCELLED: MoCo Underground Writer’s Showcase

Thursday, December 15, 2022 at 7:00 pm 8:30 pm

A Black woman stands at a podium, smiling, and reading from a book titled "Us Against Alzheimer's".

Sorry – due to illnesses, this program has been cancelled.  See you in 2023!

From poems to short stories, enjoy a live presentation featuring original work by some truly talented writers, including Alyson Weinberg, Cynthia Via, Sarah Etlinger, Lorna Rose and Danielle Kean-Grassi. Then step up to the (Zoom) mic yourself because MoCo Underground is inviting YOU to read at this special open mic night, too! All levels of experience are welcome, both new and seasoned authors. Participants can sign up in advance to bask in the spotlight for 8-10 minutes or sit back and enjoy the show. Featured writer spots are limited, so be sure to register early.

MoCo Underground Writers Showcase is a free, bi-monthly public event where featured writers read their original prose, poetry, and essays aloud in front of a live audience (also known as a “literary reading”). With a special focus on local independent authors, MoCo Underground showcases writers from all backgrounds and experience from grizzled veterans with hundreds of publishing credits, to never-before-published novices just beginning to find their voices—all are welcome.

For accommodation requests, please contact the museum via email or at 301-774-0022.
