Portrait Painting Demonstration

Watch paintings come to life on canvas.  Exhibiting artists of The Maryland Society of Portrait Painters will paint from a live portrait model. Start with a blank canvas or paper, you’ll see each artist’s process of starting and developing the painting. The model will pose for about 20 minutes at a time and then break for a rest period. Artists will be on hand to answer questions about their processes.  All ages are invited to observe.

Artists will include Melissa Gryder, Nancy McCarra, Leslie Sater, and Andree Tullier.

This demonstration is being held in conjunction with Face to Face: The Evolving Story of Sandy Spring, on exhibit till November 18, 2017.
