Resident Artist Open House

Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 11:00 am - 3:00 pm

The museum is home to eleven artists who work in a variety of mediums, teach classes and create wonderful works of original art.  Stop by on the first Saturday of any month to meet the artists, see them at work, and learn more about their craft.  You may want to purchase a one-of-a-kind gift for yourself or a friend.

The featured artist this month is Jean Fletcher.  Jean is a potter who experiments with forms and firing processes.  Frequently, her work is inspired by the garden in the courtyard outside the clay studio.  She makes a variety of ceramic pieces, many fired in a wood ash or soda ash environment.  All of her pottery is functional and food-safe.  At the March 3rd open house, you’ll see Jean throwing pieces for her next woodfire to take place in April at the Nobrigama kiln at Baltimore Clayworks.
