The Spring Open Mic
Tuesday, February 8 at 7:00 pm – 9:30 pm
Drop in on any Tuesday night to enjoy live music at The Spring. Hosted by rob Hinkal of ilyAIMY and rob’s Open Mics, and in collaboration with the Institute of Musical Traditions, the Spring Open Mic welcomes all performers – beginners, pros, and everywhere in-between – as well as listeners, to perform at the Sandy Spring Museum. The Spring is livestreamed on YouTube, Facebook and Twitch (performers must be at the museum in person).
This evening’s featured performers are The Honey Badgers!
When Michael Natrin asked Erin Magnin to dust off her rarely played fiddle and join him for a couple songs at a local showcase, the two never imagined they were creating a musical partnership that would continue far into the future. Almost eight years later, the Honey Badgers are bringing their distinctive harmonies and sincere Americana sound to stages across the mid-Atlantic. Weaving their voices together over driving guitar, lonesome violin, and punchy harmonica, The Honey Badgers create a sound that is carefree, satisfying, and fun.
The event is free, but a suggested donation of $10, which helps sustain the event, can be paid through the registration link or in-person at the program. We also encourage you to donate to our featured artist and / or purchase their music if you’re able.
2 pieces or 10 minutes – whichever’s shorter. No drum kits or amplifiers please. House piano available. Should you have technical questions about the Open Mic and/or your performance, please contact rob Hinkal at (301) 910-2575 or firstname.lastname@example.org. For accommodation requests, please contact the museum via email or at (301) 774-0022.
