Friday, September 16, 2022 at 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm

NOTE: Online registration for this program will close Friday, September 16 at 4 PM. Registration will be open at the door, $35 per person.
Taste your way through the adventurous life of Ernest Hemingway with cocktail historian Phil Greene. In addition to being one of the 20th century’s greatest writers (and famous for his excessive ways), Hemingway experienced life to the fullest from all corners of the world, from his homes in Paris, Key West and Cuba, and expeditions in Africa. Sample select cocktails as Greene shares Hemingway’s life, writings, and travels through the lens of the icon’s favorite drinks, watering holes, and drinking buddies. Registration fees include two sample “Hemingway” cocktails per person, the Jack Rose and the Hemingway Daiquiri. Two pre-event cocktails, Whiskey & Soda and Bloody Mary, will be available for purchase.
Philip Greene is an attorney, historian, and award-winning writer. Phil is the author of three books, To Have and Have Another – A Hemingway Cocktail Companion, The Manhattan: The Story of the First Modern Cocktail, and A Drinkable Feast: A Cocktail Companion to 1920s Paris. This most recent book won a coveted 2019 Spirited Award for “Best New Book on Drinks Culture, History or Spirits,” and was nominated for the American Library in Paris’s Book of the Year Award. Books will be available for sale and signing.
Phil is also one of the founders of the Museum of the American Cocktail in New Orleans. He has presented at food and drink events across the globe, including the Smithsonian, the Washington Shakespeare Theatre, the Hemingway Society, and other notable institutions worldwide, including Sandy Spring Museum.
