Supporting Partners’ Programs: Turkish Shadow Puppet Show, Featuring Ayhan Hulagu

**Sandy Spring Museum is not hosting or organizing this program. We are sharing this program in support of Anatolian Artisans—the event’s organizers. Anatolian Artisans is a folklife partner of the Regional Folklife Center at Sandy Spring Museum.**

Ayhan Hulagu is a prominent shadow puppet master and founder of the US Karagoz Theater Company. Traditional shadow puppet theater, Karagoz, is recognized by UNESCO’s as Intangible Cultural Heritage.   In addition to Turkish traditional puppetry characters, Hulagu has adapted Shakespeare’s Hamlet, which has won numerous awards. He is a board member at Puppeteers of America.  

The show is intended for both children and adult audiences.
