DonationEvent Navigation
The art of quilting has a long history with varied traditions among women throughout the world. While historically quilts were created for practical purposes, women have also added their personal touches to quilts, more recently as purposeful story quilts sharing their voices on religious, political, and personal topics. This presentation focuses on the anatomy of a story quilt and highlights story quilts created by a diverse group of women. Women’s History Month is a time to celebrate the many accomplishments and contributions of women in our society.
Presenter Angela Lanier is a member of the Uhuru Quilters Guild and featured in Quilts and the Stories They Tell. Her work was accepted into the national juried exhibition We Are The Story at the Textile Center in Minneapolis, MN.
