What is Ours? Poetry Night

Thursday, September 8 at 7:00 pm 9:00 pm

Enjoy an evening of visual art and spoken word as featured writers share poetry written in response to  “What is Ours?”,  a juried group exhibition by members of the Women’s Caucus for Art, Greater DC Chapter. In a contemporary culture where womxn* artists are profoundly underrepresented in art institutions and women’s rights continue to be repealed, What is Ours? is an opportunity for womxn to reclaim space, authority and confidence in themselves, their communities and our collective future.

You will be inspired as you hear poets bring artworks to life, sharing new perspectives on the themes of community, empowerment, heritage, and identity. This event is co-organized by the Women’s Caucus for Art of Greater Washington DC and MoCo Underground Writer’s Showcase. Light refreshments will be provided. This event is free, but registration is required.

*Womxn is an inclusive term used to describe all people who identify as women.

For accommodation requests, please contact the museum via email or at 301-774-0022.
