WondeRoom: DIY Dolls
Sunday, November 6, 2022 at 11:00 am – 12:30 pm

Transform and repurpose leftover fabric, tassels, and few other snazzy supplies into a cast of fun, new characters! Is it a hula dancer, the top of a wizard’s wand, a jester’s puppet, or a shaman’s staff? Under the guidance of teaching artist Suzanne Herbert-Forton, use your imagination and assorted recycled goodies in this family-friendly workshop to create a wonderful plaything fit for any adventure. Sign-up early or drop-in any time between 11:00 am-12:30 pm.
Suzanne Herbert-Forton has spent her life as a working artist in Baltimore. She creates and exhibits mixed media pieces using hand embroidery, ceramics, and found objects. Suzanne enjoys sharing her skills and working with children and adults by teaching in various settings, from recreation to regular classrooms. She is a teaching artist with Arts For Learning, Maryland. Suzanne has been a residency artist with the Maryland State Arts Council AIE program since 2002.
The WONDEROOM is a dedicated space filled with experiential, hands-on, family-friendly activities that inspire creativity through design-based problem-solving challenges. As always, WondeRoom activities are designed for intergenerational collaboration.
