World Refugee Day

Friday, June 7, 2019 at 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Join us for an educational and inspirational evening, addressing how we can all become advocates for the acceptance of refugees. Organizations such as the International Rescue Committee (IRC), CASA, Refugees International, Lutheran Social Service, and the United Mission for Development and Relief will be in attendance to discuss their services and volunteer opportunities.  Attendees will also enjoy a musical performance and a student panel discussion.  Light refreshments will be served.

The world is currently experiencing its largest displacement event in decades. 70 million people are refugees, doing whatever it takes for the safety of their families, and traveling thousands of miles for asylum in countries that have their backs turned and their borders closed.

This event is being organized and hosted by Many Origins, One Home, a Blake High School, student-led organization advocating for refugee rights.
