Wow your audience and let your creative juices flow in this unusual performance venue and workshop space. Whether it is a musical, dance, or theater production, you can put on an outstanding show at an affordable price or educate others on creative practices by hosting a fun and hands-on workshop.

Depending on the use, there may be no charge, or an arrangement such as splitting revenue from fees or bartering for services. Past arrangements have included a pianist who played for an event at the Sandy Spring Museum pro bono and then held a recital with no rental fee, an artist who held a workshop here and paid a percentage of registration fees to the museum, and a musical group who played here and split the ticket sales with the museum.

Looking for a location for film, television or commercial shoots?

The museum can provide a unique, historical interior setting, and rustic outdoor backdrop for your video shoot. Pricing depends on the size and length of the production and whether the museum would need to be closed to accommodate it.

Recording

The Ladson Library and Dr. Bird Room are both ideal for recordings. The Dr. Bird Room is equipped with a state-of-the-art grand piano, professionally tuned throughout the year. Students from local high schools have often used the piano and space to record audition tapes to submit with college applications. Budding artists are encouraged to inquire about using our space Monday through Friday.
