With lovely wood floors, floor-to-ceiling windows, and a spectacular view of beautifully landscaped courtyard and gardens, the Farquhar Gallery shines with art exhibited on natural brick walls. Bentley Memorial Exhibit Hall
Reminiscent of the barns and outbuildings of historic Quaker farms, the Bentley Memorial Exhibit Hall holds a fascinating historical past. The Bentley Family, whose ancestors moved to Sandy Spring in the 1700s, donated the land where the Sandy Spring Museum proudly sits. Explore this exhibit hall and the wondrous stories displayed within and rent it for your next special occasion or event.

The museum sits on over seven acres of rustically landscaped grounds. From grassy knolls to shady hideaways and ample parking, the museum grounds are the perfect venue for corporate and family events, picnics, flea markets, weddings and other life-cycle events, outdoor concerts, and more.
Dr. Bird Room
As Sandy Spring Museum’s largest indoor space available for rent, the multipurpose Dr. Bird Room features an octagonal design with five large windows and exposed oak trusses supporting a roof topped with a windowed cupola. With lots of natural light, this elegant and versatile room can be rented empty or with tables and chairs included.
The room is named for Dr. Jacob W. Bird, who moved to Sandy Spring in 1909 to set up his medical practice on the road in Olney now named in his honor. Dr. Bird established the first hospital in Montgomery County, now known as MedStar Montgomery Medical Center.
Adjacent to the Dr. Bird room is a small kitchen with industrial sinks, a refrigerator, stove, and staging area available for your rental. Affordable catering options are also available. Please call for pricing.

This octagonal room comes equipped with three conference tables, easy computer access and free Wi-Fi (which is also available throughout the museum). It is home to nearly 1,000 books, giving you a seemingly never-ending list of resources and stories to explore and a unique space to rent for any small meeting or event. The library is perfect for a writer’s guild, board meeting, business networking event, book talks and signings, or a small training session.
