About the Gift Shop
Sandy Spring Museum’s gift shop is a community marketplace that supports regional artists and connects visitors to the region’s living cultural traditions through thoughtfully curated, locally handcrafted goods.
The shop prioritizes community benefit and sustainability over profit and serves as an extension of the museum’s educational and cultural mission.
We give preference to:
Work by local and regional artists,
Handmade or artisan goods, and
Items that have a meaningful connection to local traditions, stories, or cultural practices.
All merchandise is selected with these values in mind.

WHY MEMBERSHIP MATTERS
Artists selected to sell in the gift shop must become members in order to participate.
Membership connects artists to the mission and community of the Sandy Spring Museum. By becoming a member, you help support the exhibitions, programs, and events that bring visitors into the museum and into the gift shop.
Together, we create a vibrant destination that celebrates local artists, craftspeople, and the history of our community. Membership strengthens this partnership and helps ensure that the museum and its artists continue to thrive.
