Sandy Spring Museum’s Cultural Landscape Plan
The Cultural Landscape Plan is the next phase of the museum’s ambitious five-phase Master Plan. Learn more about the plan through these 3 free public programs:
The overarching goal of the Master Plan is to make the entire seven-acre campus more accessible and vibrant for all kinds of community activities—from lively festivals to family picnics and contemplative walks.
The Cultural Landscape Plan includes the development of .75 miles of walking trails throughout the property, including our conservation-easement protected forest, Level 1 arboretum accreditation, new honeybee hives, and functional outdoor artwork designed to reflect the region’s cultural heritage.
In addition, we’ll make improvements to our parking area that will make it more welcoming and accessible for all.
The museum has secured public grants for some of this work, but community philanthropic support will be essential to its successful completion. Commemorative opportunities are available at a variety of levels.
